    Two new filters that refine Poly DirectorAI smart camera technology by excluding participants displayed on monitors and stationary objects from framing, keeping the focus on active participants.

The HP|Poly and Pexip partnership continues to strengthen with the release of Poly Meeting Control App. The new video endpoint capability has been co-developed within this growing partnership to enable rich feature experiences when in a PrivateConnect, or CloudConnect powered by Pexip call with Microsoft Teams or Google Meet.

What features does the Poly Meeting Control App offer?

The Poly Meeting Control App provides users with an elegant and intuitive interface, allowing them to effortlessly initiate video calls, share content, and adjust the camera settings. During meetings, the app lets users raise hands, lock the meeting, manage participants, mute, and unmute the microphones, control the volume, admit or reject participants, and view incoming chats from meetings.

  1. Availability: Meeting Control App is available on 1Poly video devices running OS 4.4.0 and Poly TC8 and Poly TC10 Touch Controllers.

We are delighted to announce that you can now install the Poly Lens Web App from Google Play on ChromeOS devices!

Instead of searching the internet to find the Poly Lens Web App, you can simply open Google Play, look up “Poly Lens Web App,” and install on your Chromebook.

The latest version of the app comes with some great new features too:

  1. You can now use the app in your preferred language. Supported languages include Danish, English, German, French, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Finnish, Chinese (simplified and traditional) and Japanese.
  2. At Poly, we value your privacy and believe that the user should be complete control of their data. That is why we have added an account delete feature so that you can delete your Poly Lens user account from within the Poly Lens Web App.

We’re excited to announce that Poly Lens Desktop version 1.5 for Windows supporting UC integration for Cisco Webex and Jabber softphones is now available. With the customized software support, users can now perform actions such as answer, hang-up, mute, and others using a headset’s buttons with Cisco Softphones, enabling easy Call Control.

A few notes to keep in mind before using the new version:

  • Cisco Webex and Jabber Softphone support is available on Poly Lens Desktop 1.5 Windows only.
  • Poly Lens Desktop 1.5 ensures platform security for users and requires admin privileges to install/upgrade to the version.
  • As an IT admin, if you are using Microsoft Endpoint Management or SCCM to deploy and manage the version of the Poly Lens Desktop application across your organization, we recommend updating your policy in the corresponding application to update and install Poly Lens Desktop 1.5. This will eliminate the need of admin permissions. Concurrently, if you are using Poly Lens Cloud, we recommend setting the Poly Lens Desktop Software policy to advertise version 1.5 to the end users.
  • For Cisco Jabber to work seamlessly, any pre-existing version of Plantronics Hub must be uninstalled. Cisco Jabber must be stopped before initiating installation or upgrade to Poly Lens Desktop 1.5. Restart Cisco Jabber once the installation or upgrade of Poly Lens Desktop 1.5 is complete.

This release only includes support for Cisco Softphones and no new features or bug fixes are included. If Cisco is not your primary softphone, we recommend continuing to use Poly Lens Desktop 1.4. Detailed release notes can be found here.

You might have noticed some major changes in the Dashboard today. We now have a Rooms dedicated dashboard and a few more new charts. Let's break that down.

Inventory and Rooms Dashboard

For a more targeted experience, we have expanded the Dashboard into two views:

Inventory Dashboard: Device-centered usage and health metrics. We added a highly requested device model dropdown so you can monitor specific models or groups of models.

Rooms Dashboard: Shared space dynamics. Get a clear picture of workplace occupancy and performance from the devices in your Lens Rooms.

Managing a modern organization effectively hinges on insight into both your tech landscape and your physical workplaces. This new layout is designed to help you stay organized to do just that. Dive into each dedicated view for a more focused and intuitive experience to monitor and manage your devices and spaces.

Total Room Use Chart

Another popular request is the ability to access site usage patterns more easily. So, we brought over the Total Room Use chart to the Dashboard. Identify peak usage periods, compare Site to Site growth, or analyze meeting length trends with Total Meeting Hours and Number of Meetings over Time. This chart uses a combination of People Counting, Call Detail Records, and Content Sharing data from Room Devices to identify meetings. Total Room Use is now available in the Rooms Dashboard.

Rooms Booked vs. Occupied Chart

Integrated your calendar yet in Lens? Unlock booking insights in the Dashboard with the new Rooms Booked vs. Occupied chart. Hours Booked shows the total amount of time your Rooms are booked as per your Calendar. This gives you a clear picture of planned Room usage and scheduling demands. Hours Occupied tracks the actual time Rooms are occupied from People Counting data. With access to these behaviors and their relationship, tailor your policies to keep your office nimble and productive. Unscheduled meetings can indicate a dynamic and collaborative work culture but can take away resources unexpectedly. Conversely, no-show meetings can be silent Room wasters. Rooms Booked vs. Occupied is now available in the Rooms Dashboard and requires Calendar Integration.

We temporarily removed the Occupancy by Day of Week chart while we work on some needed enhancements.
